World Teachers Day

Australia celebrated and thanked the teaching profession on World Teachers’ Day - Friday 30 October.  Teachers (with support from parents and carers) have ensured education continues across the country this year, despite major challenges. It’s reinforced the significant role teachers play in the lives of children and students, their families and communities. Please say a big thank you to teachers and celebrate the bright future of teaching. Post a photo in your sunglasses on social media, either on your own or with family or friends. Term 4 Calendar

We have made some changes to our planner for the rest of this term, in an effort to accommodate some of the disruptions that we have all faced this year.  The full schedule is below, however the key changes from previous years are:

  • no subject exams for years 10 and 11
  • the inclusion of a year 11 general exam
  • A slightly later start of Flying Start.  This will still give current year 10 and 11's two weeks of year 11 and 12 classes this year.

The success of Flying Start is dependent on the full attendance of students during this time.  I am seeking your support to ensure that students who are in year 11 and 12 at Red Cliffs next year attend the full two weeks of Flying Start from November 30th to December 11th.

Plans for grade 6 orientation days and our awards presentation process are still subject to directions from the Chief Medical Officer and the Education Department.

Last Day of Term 4!

Year 12 last day

Friday October 30th was the last day of classes for our year 12 students.  The students have had a year 12 like no other, but good spirits and support have been demonstrated by this team throughout 2020 - this continued on Friday.  A lunch with staff followed by a presentation of gifts and a cake by some of the parents marked a their last day.

Next week is their Swot Vac Week, with those sitting exams commencing on November 10th.  We wish all of our class of 2020 the very best with exams and the next stage of their life.
