The Arts & Woodwork

Foundation Woodwork

It has been fabulous to work with the Foundations in Woodwork so far this term. We have been learning about safety and practicing skills to use in the workshop. Next week we begin working on a series of projects including an echidna, catapult, robot and car.

Makers Shed

During Weeks 6, 7 and 8 we will be having lunchtime arts activities in the barn. If you have any clean plastic containers or boxes (such as cereal or food packaging boxes) it would be appreciated if you could send them along with your child from the beginning of Week 4.

Ice-cream and yoghurt containers with lids would also be appreciated for the Pottery Shed.

NGV Teens: Industry Connections

Eugenia Lim

A fantastic opportunity for students aged 13-18 to hear from a diverse range of artists about their inspiration and production and opportunities for work in the art and design industry.

Next week (Tuesday 27 October, 5pm–6pm) the speaker is Eugenia Lim.

Eugenia Lim is an Australian artist of Chinese–Singaporean descent who works across video, performance and installation to explore how national identities cut, divide and bond our globalised world. Lim has exhibited, screened or performed nationally and globally including at Tate Modern, Museum of Contemporary Art, Loop Barcelona and Dark MOFO, among others.

Lim is co-director of 26-year-old artistic company APHIDS. Lim co-founded art collective Tape Projects, CHANNELS Festival and co-wrote/hosts ‘Video Becomes Us’, an artist-made TV show. She teaches at both RMIT and the Victorian College of the Arts where she is a current Senior Industry Fellow and a Centre of Visual Art Fellow, respectively.
