HASS Studies

In HASS this term, students in Reception and year 1 have been looking at the natural, managed and constructed features of places. Recently we conducted a survey of the school and photographed and recorded the natural, managed and constructed features of our school to form some conclusions about our school environment.

Our year 2 students and some IELC classes have been learning about maps and their different scales. We have been exploring what maps are and how they are used to convey a variety of information. Recently we have been looking at how Australia can be represented at a regional scale (showcasing all of our states and territories) and at a national scale (show casing Australia as one country).

SCIENCE IN Y2 & Y7

To consolidate our learning around viscosity (how runny a liquid is) and the properties of liquids, we conducted an experiment to race different liquids. This experiment allowed us to observe their viscosity and discuss whether our predictions were accurate or not.

This term in science we have been learning about viscosity (how runny a liquid is). To help with our learning, we used 4 different liquids which were conditioner, honey, BBQ and tomato sauce. We found that the substance with the lowest viscosity was conditioner and the substance with the highest viscosity was the BBQ sauce. - Quinn and Benny

ln science this term Y2 and Y7 have been learning about viscosity (how runny a liquid is) and how it impacts different types of liquids. We did an experiment to prove our theory. We also did a liquid race to test which liquid had the highest viscosity and the lowest viscosity.Camila and Sneha

Indonesian

In Indonesian we have been learning about the different ways and words used to greet one another.   Did you know that in Indonesia this is how a student and teacher greet one another?

We have also learnt that there are two different ways to say good afternoon, depending on the position of the sun. 'Selamat siang' is good early afternoon and 'Selamat sore' is good late afternoon.
