School Captain's Message

Hi Students, Parents and Families,
Just to let you know we are running the School Captain election for 2023, starting round 1 this week. This involves presenting your speech in front of your class and your next door class. If you are successful you make it through to the next round where you have an interview with the 2022 School Captains and 2 staff members. Don't be afraid, give it your best shot, we are looking forward to meeting you at your interview.
Last week the school captains were selling poppies for Remembrance Day, we were raising money for the Werribee RSL and we sold out of all the poppies, raising $123.00. Thank you for everyone who brought a poppy. On Friday we held a WebEx ceremony and had a 1 minute silence at 11am to remember those people who fought in World War 1.
This week is STEM week, students have been doing STEM related activities in class like making a car out of popsicle sticks and putting an egg inside and rolling it down a hill. The Green team have been collecting rubbish around the school to do an audit, we are looking forward to hearing the results.
Thank you to Mr. Laird for organising the activities.
In week 10 the school will be hosting our Junior Athletics day for years Foundation to Grade 2. Students will be wearing their house colours and participating in both athletic and novelty events such as sprints, hurdles, long jump and closest to the pin. There will be more information coming out closer to the date. Start training!
