Principal's Welcome
Mrs Josie Crisara OAM
The 2022 academic school year began with joy, enthusiasm and optimism after the challenges of the past few years. Our students were excited to catch up with each other and their teachers. Although the impacts of COVID still persist we have been able to return to the activities that make up the school year. This has included excursions, camps, Interschool sport, plays, music concerts as well as student activities and clubs such as Interact, Dunhelen Dance, Eng Girls and Hospitality group.
We have a number of important priorities this year including completion of the new Year 3- 6 classrooms and specialist primary Visual Arts, Digital Technology and Performing Arts spaces as well as planning for the new Prep - Year 2 classrooms and playground. The Kitchen Garden and Farm outdoor spaces have been completed providing students with real life, garden, farm and sustainability experiences.
A focus on student and staff well-being has been occurring in Life Skills classes and in Homeroom, Assemblies and Chapel. A school wide positive behaviour support program is in the planning stages and our student councils are giving students a voice and agency in matters that are of interest to them.
We are proud of our Class of 2021 VCE and VCAL students who have now settled into many different pathways at a variety of institutions or workplaces. Our talented teachers and support staff continue to work hard to support student learning and provide engaging lessons. Some have also presented at conferences and are on education bodies making a difference.
