Work Skills

Students recently had the opportunity to participate in a range of different courses, held on-site at BSC, aimed at helping them gain work in the future. First up was First Aid training, which saw students successfully complete their First Aid Certificate, an invaluable qualification, regardless of the circumstance.
We then welcomed back Liam from the CFMEU, who ran the White Card training, involving VCAL, Advance and Hands On Learning Students. This is an essential OH&S qualification for anyone considering working in the trade or construction industry, or anyone who needs access to work sites.
And finally, during Week 3, we ran a Hospitality Job Camp for a mix of students from Advance and VCAL. The students learnt about Safe Food Handling, Cafe Service Skills and Espresso making. All training, organised by Miss Conroy, was a major success and a fantastic opportunity for students to gain recognised skills to include on their resumes. Well done to all the students involved; our staff definitely enjoyed the extra hit of barista coffees throughout the day!
The training, organised by Ms Conroy, was a valuable experience for students, assisting them to gain employment or improve their knowledge, so they can then apply it in their current workplace. Overall the students did an fantastic job, with several staff complimenting their efforts.
