SWPASA Cricket Blast School Cup
Our Year 5/6s had a blast at the SWPSA Cricket Blast School Cup!
It was a great day of competition and our Cornerstone students showed great sportsmanship, teamwork, effort and attitude throughout the day. There were celebrations to be had by one of the girls' cricket teams that remained undefeated all day. We are super proud of all the students that participated!
Annual Spelling Bee
The Annual Spelling Bee hosted by Mr Heyes saw both Primary and Secondary School students competing to be crowned The Cornerstone Christian College Spelling Bee Champion for 2022!
Well done to all students who competed and a huge round of applause to this year's winner ... Charlotte Blennerhassett!!
Drama Class
The Monday Drama class recently participated in a two-day Drama festival hosted by the Busselton Dunsborough Alliance Against Depression. The students presented an original play called "A Stitch in Time". Myles Pollard, of McLeod's Daughters fame, gave feedback. Myles also conducted a workshop sharing his valuable film and stage skills with the students. The cast then presented "A Stitch in Time" at a public concert. We hope the festival becomes an annual event!
"Unfinished Business"
The school production, "Unfinished Business" performed to a full house over three nights! Thanks to those that were a part of the audience and a big chookas goes out to those involved in the show!
The cast party featured a special surprise - a cake sporting the promotional poster for Unfinished Business (thanks Mrs Langford!). The cast signed their names on the inside of the lighting booth, and we placed the poster on the wall of fame - a fitting conclusion to a most successful production.
Breakfast club
Breakfast Club and Running Club are well and truly underway. The highlight after running is coming together for the shared breakfast. "I will run for breakfast!" has been a huge motivation for many to get to the finish line!
Thanks to Mrs Odette Blennerhassett and our fantastic parent volunteers for organising this each Wednesday.
Bunbury Wildlife Park
The Pre-Primary class have been busy inquiring into special places, and in particular the special place we live in - Australia. We went to the Bunbury Wildlife Park and were excited to be able to see some amazing Australian animals there. We were even able to handle some snakes and a lizard! We are all in awe of God's amazing animal creations.
After an ice cream we had fun playing in the big playground before we drove back to school.
Year 1 - Capacity Sand Play
The Year 1 students were learning about capacity while estimating which containers held the most, the least or three handfuls. A great hands-on learning activity with Mrs Meyer and Mrs Mapstone.
Anything But a Bag Day!
An exciting initiative for our Secondary students, supporting a charity called Compassion First in Indonesia!
