Principals Report

Every day matters

Term 4 in a senior school is an interesting time. While it is sad that our first graduating class is finishing up thirteen years of education, it is also very fast paced and often stressful for students and their teachers alike. this has been keeping us busy!

It is so pleasing to see that our students continued to attend 100% of their exams, on time, with correct equipment and a readiness to do the best they can. It is even more pleasing to have experienced seeing students come out of their exams with smiles on faces and such positive outlook on what it was like.

The great practice and habit building of expectations in previous years (even during a pandemic) has supported our students to perform to the best of their ability when it counted the most.

At Homestead, term 4 is represented by a focus on the value of resilience. This is the value of Gillard House. The shear determination and resilience of our students, backed by the positive culture around assessment and high expectations from our staff and families has been exemplified by our student behaviours and we could not be more proud of you all.

Year 12 VCAA exams are almost complete (we have one more exam on Tuesday for 2 students). We have been so pleased and we can not wait to celebrate your successes in weeks and years to come and of course at our inaugural valedictory dinner.

To our Year 11 and Year 10 students, your exams are coming up next week and the week after, followed in each case by your commencement week program. I know that you can take inspiration from our senior students and continue to own fantastic work into these final weeks. I know that you will do amazingly!

Take care all!
