A Day in my DPS Life….

Weihan

The first thing that I would do on a typical school day would be waking up from a long sleep. I wake up feeling tired though I soon feel energetic. After I eat my breakfast, I brush my teeth and prepare for school. After a short car ride, I arrive at school and spend some time with my friends. When the bell rings, I go inside and start my learning. Occasionally, I will have specialists in the morning. When recess starts, I often eat my snack and play with my friends. I always have a fantastic time! After recess, I get straight back into work and wait for lunch. During lunch, there are countless fun activities and sometimes, they even involve sell some icy poles. At times, I spend some sessions, together with my awesome fellow captains, and participate in leadership work. To end my fabulous, I participate in a variety of lessons depending on what day it is. For example, on Wednesday, I have P.E and on some Thursdays, we are involved in UBUNTU lessons. After school, I do many extra curriculums. This is just a normal but amazing day in my DPS life!

I wake up at 6:45am and get ready to go to school. I get to school at around 8:30am and play basketball or soccer until class starts. Probably the best time of the day for me! Next, we are greeted by our awesome teachers and begin to learn. At recess I do a lot of things including wearing my school hat (definitely a sun smart one), play games and eating my snack. Then I go back inside and do writing and maths. I thoroughly enjoy writing because my brain flows at an even space and I develop imaginative and intriguing stories with suspense. Sometimes, I will do some work with the other school captains which is usually fun. Lunch comes sooner than expected and I go outside again. Depending on what day it is, there is a multitude of things that happen last session. There could be a specialist, dance or even a Grade 6 activity. After school, I normally have an extracurricular such as choir or psychology and after I do my night routine. I normally go to bed at 9pm. That is my wonderful DPS day… and a repeat of it the next day!

As I climb down from my ladder from bed onto the carpeted floor, tiredly I walk down the stairs to the ground floor and try to decide long and hard what to eat for breakfast. I usually settle for something with bread or toast. After eating it I pack my bag and get ready for school. In the car, I’m always excited and nervous to go to school. At school I meet up with my friends to chat. My favourite subject at school is either at Art or Math. On certain days, I help work with the other school captains on newsletters, assemblies, or special events. At recess, I tend to do a variety number of things, which are mostly involved with running. At the end of recess, I do more schoolwork and then lunch comes and is a fun break, as it’s like the homestretch of the school day. After lunch, I usually do specialist, practise our graduation dance, or finish leftover work. I walk out the door when the bell rings, and get ready for an extracurricular activity like KT, tennis practice or choir. Then, I call it a day and go back to bed at about 9pm.

I usually wake up between four and five o’clock and I either contemplate my life choices or do something random like sort the things inside my desk. Next, I spend time with my dog, deal with her, and begin getting ready for school. This takes me to about 8:15am which is when I start getting myself ready and then I begin riding to school at like 8:30. I get to school at around 8:50, and then I have an interesting conversation with my friends until school starts. Depending on the day, I either have normal lessons or specialists. After the first two sessions I have a well-deserved break and snack. After, I get back to the grind and I do more work. Occasionally, I also work with the other School Captains doing things like the newsletter. We then have lunch. Normally, I run around or chat with my friends. After that, there is generally a fun activity such as dance practice, a specialist or a Level 6 activity. Subsequently, I wait for my brother at the library next to the school, and then we ride home. I spend the evening doing various things like homework or playing. I usually make my dog dinner. I then have a shower and have dinner, and I go to bed. The next day, looks pretty similar… Love my days at DPS
