Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

Thank you to those families who participated in this week's parent teacher interviews. Next Tuesday afternoon, from 3.45 - 5.30pm we hope all families will take the opportunity to come and view an Exhibition of Learning.  Over recent weeks, our students and staff have been busy compiling a display of learning from the year and we are all looking forward to sharing this with you.

Tomorrow, members of the SRC will attend the Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Mount Beauty Cenotaph, to lay a sheath of flowers on behalf of the school community.

2023 Prep transition commences next week with students from the kinder visiting on Tuesday and Thursday.  Additional visits will be held on the 22nd and 24th November, before our formal transition program commences on the 28th of November.  All students will participate in a state wide transition day on Tuesday the 13th December.

On Monday 21st November we will have a pupil free day to enable staff to undertake report writing.  OSHC will be running on this day, to provide childcare for families who require this assistance.  Bookings are essential and can be made online via the OSHC page, or by calling Kath on 0418399861.

Commencing the 21st of November, I will be taking a period of long service leave, through until the end of the year.  In my absence, Roger Blackwell will be taking my place, supported by Nicole.  If there are any urgent matters that you wish to discuss, before this time, please contact the office.

Our Music competition continued this week with round 3 now underway.  Congratulations to Isla on correctly guessing last week's theme of 'Different Languages'.  Yesterday, students enjoyed another spontaneous dance party at the end of the lunch.  Congratulations to the winners and to everyone who brought their moves to the dance floor!

Throughout this term, the Student Executive at Mount Beauty Secondary College have been selling handcrafted Bali bracelets in order to raise funds for the Bali Street Mums Project, which aids women and children living in poverty.  Next week, members of the Student Executive will visit our school to tell students about the project and to provide the opportunity for students to place an order.
