Upcoming Learning

During the next fortnight, students will be undertaking learning in following areas:

Reading	Week 6- Persuasive texts. We will be using the Pigeon books to explore persuasive text features and language, including 'Don't let the pigeon drive the bus!' -Phonics 'oy' digraph. Week 7- Persuasive texts. We will be using 'The Day the Crayons quit' to explore persuasive text features and language.
Writing	Week 6 and 7- Persuasive writing. We will be writing persuasive pieces and exploring what language we can use to persuade others of our opinions.
Maths	Week 6- Addition/subtraction and fact families. -Length and collecting data Week 7- Division and equal sharing. - Measuring and comparing mass.
Science/Inquiry	Week 6- The night sky- Observing what changes happen in the night sky. - From farm to table- What are the different food groups? Week 7- The night sky. Exploring the planets! - From farm to table- Continuing to explore the different food groups.
Social & emotional learning	Week 6- What are the qualities of a good friend?

News and Reminders:

-The Year 1 students had SO much fun at our excursion to The Big Goose last week. We had so many wonderful experiences and students were very well behaved and respectful of the farm and the beautiful animals. It was such a great day

-Colour run! We are still raising money for our school. There are lots of prizes to be won for money raised. An online profile needs to be made. If you need help with this, please let your classroom teacher know.
