Yaama,
I hope this message finds you all well and that you kept safe during this crazy weather!
I would like to touch on attendance and why it is so important for our kids to attend school regularly. Regular attendance at school is essential for students to achieve quality life outcomes. Schools, in partnership with parents, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students.
Education for your child is important and regular attendance at school is essential for your child to achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options. When your child attends school every day, learning becomes easier and your child will build and maintain friendships with other children.
Missing one day per fortnight adds up to 4 weeks of school missed over the school year, creating significant gaps in your child’s learning.
If you are struggling with school avoidance from your little person, please don’t be afraid to reach out, as we have resources available to help.
There is also a free program called the Triple P parenting program which contains many useful tips and strategies for dealing with school refusal also.
If there is ever anything that I can help you with, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
