Year 5/6 News

As is the case at this time of the year in 5/6 we are hurtling towards the final weeks of the second semester with a hive of activity. Our PBL businesses are all in full flight with smoothies, brownies, coffees and gardens all being sold at different times through the week. Aquatic Education starts up next week, including the Sports Fun Day and this is followed by Headstart/Transition Week. Year 6 Graduation is of course very much on the horizon in Week 11 on December 15th.

As we are getting close to the conclusion of the school year the 5/6 teachers would like to thank all the families for their continued support throughout this year. Your willingness to assist and the positive influence you have on your children makes our job here far easier.

Problem-Based Learning

It has been wonderful to see the businesses launch over the past couple of weeks. Feedback from the school community has been overwhelmingly positive as students took orders, made products and interacted with customers.

Running alongside our businesses in PBL, students have been exploring digital technologies and developing an understanding of the role individual components of digital systems playing in the processing and representation of data.

Recently students have been introduced the to the program, Scratch which allows students to develop coding to create a range of digital games and solutions.

We look forward to seeing students' creations come alive over the next few weeks!
