Leadership/Buddies/Graduation

Over the last few weeks, Grade 5 students have had the opportunity to meet next year's Prep students and begin to establish relationships that will see them allocated a Prep Buddy to help guide them through their first year at our school.

Over the coming weeks, Grade 5 students will also be presenting themselves for next year's school leadership positions. They have spent time identifying roles that they believe should be filled and what those roles will undertake. We look forward to hearing their speeches and announcing our School Leaders soon.

Whilst all of that has been going on our Grade 6 students have been preparing for their Graduation. Completing your primary school journey marks the end of one phase of education and the beginning of another. Students have spent time reflecting on their time at St Francis Xavier and readying themselves for the prospect of entering secondary school, with different expectations and a nervousness that is understandable. Early December, students will be attending their Year 7 orientation day, and towards the end of the term, a celebratory 'Big Day Out'.

Approaching end of the school term

Wow... as we approach the end of the term, it is important to recognise that we are also approaching the end of the first full year of learning in a few years. I understand that this may mean students are feeling a level of exhaustion, but wish to remind students that we haven't finished yet!

Notices went out this week for our Water Safety Day at PARC. Please ensure the permission form and PARC on-line form are completed before December 2.

Italian Day will be held at school next Monday, so remember to come in the colours of the Italian flag - red, green and white.

Phys. Ed.

This week our class managed to make the most of some recent sunshine and hone their tennis skills. Look out for our next Ash Barty or Alex de Minaur!
