Principal's Report
Dear Collingwood College,
The Collingwood College School Council is a fantastic group of people within our community who work together to ensure the school is meeting its requirements in regards to Department processes and achieving the outcomes for student success. The Council provides strategic support and guidance to our School Leadership and overseas governance across the College, Collingwood Alternative School and Wurun Senior Campus.
As per my previous Compass posts, I’d like to remind you that voting closes for the parent ballot and the student ballot on Monday, 6th March at 4pm. If you haven’t received voting information and ballot papers from your child, they are available at reception at both Collingwood College and Wurun Senior Campus. We also have the candidate statements available.
Can I urge all parents to check your child’s personal details on Compass? Please check to ensure that the school has the correct information, especially phone contacts. I would like to draw your attention to two extremely important pieces of information in particular:
- Emergency Contacts
These are people the school contacts if there is a health problem with your child and you, or your authorised partner, are not able to be contacted. You must ensure that those on your list of emergency contacts have agreed to be on your list and are able to collect your child promptly if necessary. It is best to have emergency contacts who have access to a car. For example, do not choose friends or relatives who work, or who do not have a car and live further than reasonable walking distance from the school.
- Early Release Permission
These are people you send to school during school hours to collect your child e.g. early pick up for an appointment etc. You must advise the school that a person other than yourself, or your authorised partner, needs to collect your child within school hours.
- Sign in. If visiting during school hours, please ensure you sign in.
Finally, a few important dates for your diary
March 13th - Labour Day Public Holiday
March 28th - Three Way conferences (student free day)
April 6th – Last day of Term. 2:30pm student finish.
