Term 1 Week 6
Favourite Series at LNPS
This term we have a competition here at LNPS where students will get to vote between different series through different rounds until we reach an overall favourite series here at LNPS. The voting board is set up at the back of our library for all students to follow along.
Book Series of the Week
Every week in the Tirkandi a new series will be on display to help expose students to all different kinds of books.
Week five had the mystery series Arkie Sparkle. Week six has the Magical series Secret Kingdom.
Scholastic Book Club Orders
Issue 1 is out now. It will close Monday the 20th. Get in fast for your book club orders.

Premier's Reading Challenge
The Premier's Reading Challenge is open. The sheets have gone home to students.
As it is the 20th year for the PRC there is a new 20-book challenge this year. The students can challenge themselves to read 20 books instead of the usual 12.
Borrowing
Reception - Can borrow 4 books
Years 1, 2, 3, 4 - Can borrow 8 books
Years 5 and 6 - Can borrow 10 books
Parents – Can borrow up to 10 books
Books can be kept for a maximum of 2 weeks. All that is required for borrowing is a library bag (for Reception, Year 1/2) and no overdue books. Students are encouraged to manage their own library bags and to borrow regularly.
Returns
Students can either place books they want to return in their classroom library box or directly into the green returns box in Tirkandi.
Overdue, Lost or Damaged Books
The school library policy for overdue, lost or damaged books is as followed. For a library book that has been overdue / lost for 2 weeks or more or returned damaged, there will be a fee of $15. However, if the book is found or returned you will be reimbursed the full amount. Students will be unable to borrow until the book(s) are returned or the payment is made. The money goes towards replacing that book.
