Parents and Friends Community News

Who’s got their picnic packed, sombrero on and ready to have fun at tomorrow’s family fun night?  It’s been a long time since we’ve had a whole school catch up in the school grounds and we’re hoping for a great turnout for our first gig of the year.

With activities for the kids, sausages being sizzled, a licenced bar and Ulrike and Kathleen offering paella, pies and hot drinks in Grounds we are ready to rock and roll, literally, as there is music too.

A few key reminders:

  • Strictly NO BYO alcohol.  You can BYO food only.
  • No cash – EFTPOS only.
  • Children to be supervised at all times
  • Tables and chairs will be available for adults on the outdoor basketball court with some shade provided.
  • If you bring your own shade it must be tethered securely as it may get windy, noting there is no grass area for poles.
  • HAVE FUN and see you there!!

What else is happening?

BOOK DRIVE -Next Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd of March between 8.30-9am and 3.15-3.45pm

Drop off your much-loved second-hand books in the Community Hub (inside Grounds café area).  All donations will be distributed to the school’s classroom libraries from Prep-G6.  Tables will be labelled with the book genre and we kindly ask that you distribute your books to the appropriate table and don’t just dump and run.  We are grateful for all donations, but as these are going into our classroom libraries we’d appreciate if the books are in good-excellent condition.

BPS students, Jack and Harry Beaumont (G5 and G3) will be selling their book, The Little Green Frog, for $15 (cash only) if you would like to pick up a new read for your child/children or as a special gift. Don’t miss out.

EASTER – the bunny is on its way and we will be holding our annual Easter Raffle and Easter Egg guessing comp in the last couple of weeks of term, so keep an eye out for Compass posts with more details.

MOTHER’S DAY LUNCH - SAVE THE DATE

Planning is underway for this very special event to be held on Friday 5th May from 12-4pm in the beautiful heritage listed event space at Quat Quatta in Ripponlea.  More details to follow shortly so ladies, get your hair appointments booked, dust off your best frock, handball the kids pick up to the lads and get ready to have a wonderful afternoon of great food, entertainment, auctions and prizes.  As those of you who attended last year know, this is one of our best events and not to be missed.

PFC EVENT PAYMENTS – A plea!  PFC uses QKR for all event payments, including the end of term Fun Lunches so, if you haven’t already downloaded the free App to your device, can we please ask you to do so now.  QKR is also the platform for ordering and paying for school uniforms.
