Parent Occupation and Education Level Forms

Each year we request all families to check and update their personal and contact information, which was sent home last week.

Of special concern are:

  • Parent occupation and education level status. The occupation and education level status information is a snapshot in time and forms an important component of the government funding for our school. See below for further information regarding the funding impact on schools.
  • Medical conditions or family living arrangements

All information collected is strictly confidential.

The Parent Occupation & Education Level Status is only collected to provide a statistical number to the DET so we can receive additional funding where appropriate. Based on the information provided, a number of significant assumptions are made by the Department of Education and Training (DET).

It is important that you do not overstate your occupation, as this could adversely affect the amount of funding we receive, which determines the quality of resources and educational programs we can provide for our students.

For exampleIf you have a small family landscape business that uses trucks and bobcats, you should nominate Occupation D (machine operators) not Occupation B (Business Manager).

It’s also important to differentiate between your “training/qualifications” and your current work.

For example: A qualified accountant who is currently working in a retail outlet, should be selecting Occupation C (Sales / Service Staff) rather than Occupation A (Professional).

Please note it is vital that we know for school funding purposes, your actual occupation and not that you are a business owner. All information is strictly confidential.

Our school is disadvantaged by upgrading employment statuses.

Accuracy is important (hence the coding assistance) however whenever any doubt occurs please make a conservative judgement.

Should you require further clarity regarding the above please do not hesitate to contact Katie Duoba on 54285 317. Any information discussed will be kept confidential.

Even if there are no changes to the listed information, please return the forms to school promptly.

Thank you for your cooperation.
