Resilience

Congratulations to all CC Sport participants on their attendance at training and performances to date. Students engaged in sport programs have demonstrated mental resilience and produced strong performances in Interhouse events, competitions and representative trials.

Mentally resilient people remain focused on the important tasks regardless of how many obstacles are presented. Resilience is built through small wins.

The QGSSSA Cricket team demonstrated this resilience in their first two rounds of QGSSSA fixtures. With a young and developing team, our Opens players, remained focused on their processes, concentrating one point at a time and rising to the challenges of the contest. The individual choices we make daily build our mental resilience, and credit is due to the players and their coach for being courageous.

At CC, individual and team selections require attendance, whether for preseason grading, weekly teams or selection for championships or events. Students are encouraged to use the opportunities to focus on the process and their mental resilience.

In 2023, many CC Sports and Activities will look to provide explicit structure and clarity around selections through identifiable selection policies.

Students’ enjoyment remains the top priority. While this will not solve all issues, we hope that our team and school culture remains positive.

Representative Sport

Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to participate in representative sports at district, regional, and state levels for a variety of activities.

If you are interested in nominating for trial selections, please view the relevant information for a variety of sports and activities which can be found via the College App > Sport > Primary/Secondary Sport > Representative Sport (listed under the ‘Sport’ tile)All parents and students are encouraged to navigate this page, including the Representative Sport Overview, to gain a greater understanding of the process.

The trial calendar is busy, and students are encouraged to pay careful attention to the Representative Sport page on the College App for trial notices. Nominations for all representative sport must be received before the respective deadlines.
