Meet the Junior Team

Alice Hamilton

Bev was also a Grade 1/2 teacher in 2022 and is a strong advocate for Indigenous Australian Perspectives and Sustainability. Outside of school, Bev loves going traveling, camping, and bushwalking with her family as well as relaxing with a good book.

Deb grew up in Castlemaine, and moved to Melbourne for her Arts degree majoring in Criminology. She completed her teaching degree and found a spot at BNWPS 9 years ago! Deb has taught in the junior years, foundation and the seniors. She is very excited to be back in the juniors! Deb is the Wellbeing leader and this year has Mondays fully dedicated to the role. Deb lives with her husband Adam and her French Mastiff, Ila, they love to go on adventures in the bush together. Deb is fascinated by aliens and all things paranormal.

Alice has been teaching for 10 years. She has taught all year levels except 5/6 and her passions include creating a supportive learning space for all students and making numeracy as fun and engaging as possible. Outside of school, Alice loves to go for nice walks with Elkie, baking yummy treats and curling up on the couch with a good book (and her cat Pixie!)

Tim has only been teaching at BNWPS since 2022 but he has been a teacher for the last 20 years. He has taught uphill and down and around the in-and-out edges of the world. Tim loves books and he loves to read. He loves maths and he loves to count. He loves thinking about the things that he has learned in the past and he loves learning about new things. Tim has two kids and he loves them too. This year Tim will be sharing classes with Deb (Monday) and Shalani (Tuesday and Wednesday).

Shalani has been teaching at BNWPS since 2013. This year, she will be sharing the teaching roles in ST with Tim H. as well as being the Enviro Science teacher for the Foundies and some of the Senior and Middles classes. Outside of work, Shalani loves spending time with her family which includes her partner James and toddler, Shehara. Shalani also loves getting out of the city as much as she can. Her dream is to one day own a little farmlet and live off-grid.

Nici has been a teacher for 6 years. She has a holistic approach to education that supports the social, emotional and academic development of the whole child. Some of her hobbies include swimming and looking for shells at the beach, singing and dancing. She is currently working on creating a picture story book, inspired by author Shaun Tan.

Elkie is a 7 year old whippet that lives in AH. Elkie spends her days at school napping, getting lots of pats and searching for dropped food on the floor. When Elkie isn’t at school she loves lazing in the sun, eating chicken and getting dogs to chase her at the park.
