Helping families understand Chid Care Subsidy changes

From July 2023 most families using child care will get more Child Care Subsidy (CCS). Here’s what you need to know:

  • The maximum amount of CCS is increasing from 85% to 90%.
  • Families earning $80,000 or less will get 90% subsidy.
  • Families earning over $80,000 and under $530,000 will get a subsidy that tapers down from 90%, depending on their income. The subsidy will go down 1% for each $5,000 earned.
  • Families with more than one child aged 5 or under in care can still get a higher rate for their second and younger children.

The Smith Family Saver Plus

The Smith Family Saver Plus program supports families with Back to School costs.

Over 55,000 Australians have saved $27 million and ANZ has provided more than $23 million in matched savings through Saver Plus.

Saver Plus increases people’s financial confidence and strengthens their financial skills.

85% of our past participants said they’re better prepared to manage environmental changes (such as cost of living pressures or unexpected bills) since completing Saver Plus.

Participants are paired with a savings coach and make regular deposits towards an agreed goal over a 10-month period. They attend online workshops to learn tips, tricks and information to grow their budgeting and savings skills. Once they reach their agreed goal, ANZ matches their savings dollar-for-dollar up to $500.

The money from Saver Plus can be used towards education costs such as uniforms, text books, laptops, camps and extra-curricular activities such as sport or music.
