Student Wellbeing

Student Wellbeing staff play a crucial role within Concord School. They are there to support students who are at risk of disengagement and make provisions so they can meet their educational potential. In my role of Assistant Principal for Student Wellbeing and  Engagement, I work closely with the Wellbeing Team, Team Leaders, the SRC and various external agencies in order to provide individualised support for our students.

The Wellbeing Team comprises of Sharon Ouliaris (Wellbeing Coordinator), Olivia Cico (Mental Health Practitioner) Angela Mellerick and Raquel Petrolo (Counsellors) Jesse Donaldson, Trish Kuhar, Harry Lister and Ebony Warner (Student Engagement Education Support) and Poppy, (School Support Dog).

In addition, commencing this year each sub-school had a Team Leader appointed to Student Wellbeing and Engagement, focusing on proactive and preventative approaches for student support. Kath Moore (Lower Primary), Chris Norman (Upper Primary), Jessica Fitzsimons (Secondary 7/8), Cath Sloley (Secondary 9/10) and Jane Stacey (Secondary 11/12).

Ensuring our students are positively engaged in as many aspects of school life as possible is a whole school endeavour and the wellbeing staff work closely with teachers, therapists and classroom assistants from across the school. The Wellbeing team provides direct day-to-day support for students, wrap around services, develops partnerships with community agencies, works with families where appropriate, addresses attendance issues, provides direct therapeutic support to students and supports staff in how they can bring out the best in our students.

Importantly the Wellbeing team focuses on the happiness of our students and strives to ensure all students are engaged and enjoying learning and life at Concord School.

Please feel free to contact the Wellbeing team either via your child’s teacher, section Team Leader for Student Wellbeing and Engagement or directly to myself, Bronwyn Hart.

Cheers,
