Clayfield College 90th Anniversary Celebration

In celebration of Clayfield’s 90th Anniversary, Primary School Captains Abigail Walker and Matilda Woodhead have put together a video of students and staff sharing memories of their time at Clayfield College.

Lockdown Learning Packs

Over the past week, our teachers have been busy preparing a week’s worth of schoolwork in case of another snap lockdown. On Friday, 20 August, Primary students from Prep to Year 6 will bring home a Learning Pack in preparation for such an event.

Please keep the contents of the Learning Pack in a safe place. Further, please do not complete any of the activities contained in this pack until advised by your child/ren’s teachers.

While we are hopeful the College will remain open, we are ready and prepared for remote learning if it happens again.

The children in Prep to Year 2 will stay connected with their teachers via the Class Dojo platform. Students from Years 3 to 6 will engage with their classmates and teachers through Microsoft Teams.

Each day your core teacher will inform you of the activities the children will be required to complete.

Please do not worry if your child/ren are not always able to complete the set tasks. We understand families may have other priorities during periods of lockdown.

We are so very grateful for your continuing support and feedback during these uncertain times. We firmly believe by maintaining a positive outlook and being adaptable, we can rise to whatever challenge we face.

Book Week Incursion

To celebrate Book Week our Prep to Year 6 students will be participating in workshops with award-winning illustrator Lucia Masciullo. Lucia will visit Clayfield College on Monday, 23 August, and share her passion for drawing and creating illustrations with the students. Born in Italy, Lucia moved to Australia in 2007 and has collaborated with Australian and English publishers. She has illustrated more than 20 books, including Come Down, Cat! (CBCA Honour Book and shortlisted for the Prime Minister Award), Family Forest (CBCA Award shortlisted), the Olive of Groves trilogy (Indie Book Award Shortlisted) and the successful Our Australian Girl series.

Father's Day Stall

It is that time of year again – Father’s Day is fast approaching! Our Primary Support Group Father’s Day Stall will be held on Wednesday, 1 September in front of the Primary Office.

We have a huge selection of fabulous gifts for the students to choose from and we are sure they will find something perfect for their dads, grandads, carers and loved ones at the stall. There are gifts for green thumbs and green eco-warriors, BBQ bosses and bickie dunkers, crossword enthusiasts and sudoku smarties. There’s a gift for those who love picnics, knickknacks, awesome ties and hilarious Dad jokes - and everything in between!

Gifts are priced at $5, $10 and $15 and all funds raised will go towards the Primary Support Group initiatives. Primary Students will be taken to the Stall during the day by their teachers and will have their teachers and parent volunteers to help them with their shopping.

Students are to bring shopping money to school in a named envelope which will be collected by their class teacher at the start of the day. They will be handed back to the student when attending the Stall and any change will be returned for safekeeping. Children will take their change and gifts home at the end of the day.

Some of the items for sale are displayed in the poster below. We can’t wait to see the student's excitement as they choose some special gifts in preparation for Father’s Day!
