Stage Makeup Assists with Madagascar Photoshoot

Girton Productions are full steam ahead, despite the challenges that COVID restrictions have presented.

Thursday morning Girton held the Junior School Production Photoshoot, showcasing the masterpiece that will be Madagascar. Me and the rest of the stage makeup crew were invited to help, and spent the morning turning excited faces into lemurs, lions, and hippos.

With COVID safe and hygiene practices in places, we did around 14 different looks, ranging from the more natural makeup of the Zookeepers to the more elaborate makeup looks, such as everybody’s favourite Zebra Marty. We as the makeup crew had a lot of fun, while learning heaps about the behind-the-scenes workings of productions. For such a rewarding day, big congratulations are in order for the cast of Madagascar, as well as a massive thank you to the staff members involved in the junior school production.

I can already tell we are all going to want to “move it, move it” to this show for weeks after it comes out.
