Design Thinking to Address COVID-19 Issues 

 

As part of an Economics and Business unit, year 8 IGNITE HASS students were recently challenged to use the Design Thinking process to address COVID-19 issues.  After empathising an aspect of the pandemic was chosen and during the ideating stage a wide range of innovative ideas were generated.  Groups then created prototypes for their chosen solutions and pitched these to fellow students for feedback.  Concepts included an app to support students working from home during a lockdown, a virtual pet service to limit loneliness and an app to encourage customers to always scan QR check-in codes.
