A little bit about our OSHC Service Coordinator- Courtney

Upwey South Primary School is such a great community to be part of. In fact, I love it so much that I want to share an interesting fact with you... many years ago, I attended this primary school, and was Vice School Captain and was fortunate to join an ISSE school trip to Mexico!  Whilst we can't travel to Mexico, my aim is to help develop some great primary school memories for your children!

Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) at Upwey South Primary School

TheirCare OSHC has been partnered with Upwey South Primary School since the commencement of Term Two, 2021. Whilst the situation with covid-restrictions has presented everyone with challenges, it has also presented us with an opportunity to truly make a difference, and help the families of our school to share the load for their child's wellbeing. 

In partnership with Upwey South Primary School, we aim to provide our students with the following: 

1. Predictability in routine and structure: students can always know what to expect when attending OSHC which helps with settling into each day. Whilst our routines and structure are pleasantly predictable, our OSHC program is full of excitement and surprises which vary each week based upon the feed-forward we gain from students, staff and families who access the service.
2. Consistencyin adult responses and relationships:the OSHC service aims to reflect the positive relationships which our students have with their own classroom teachers. Our staff are consistent, approachable and develop respectful and trusted relationships with students who access OSHC.
3. Positive reinforcementof desirable behaviours: by highlighting the behaviours and interactions which are desirable, we are able to help students to understand 'what' 'where' 'how' and 'why' we aim to live our school's values each and every day. Whether it be including others in play, reaching out to offer help, or achieving a personal goal... we will celebrate your achievements and behaviours with you. And, don't worry, if you've had a tough day and something goes amiss we will be there to support you in a predictable and consistent manner.
