Learning & Innovation
“Learning is not attained by chance. It must be sought for with ardour and attended with diligence.” Abigail Adams
Remote Learning
Over the last two weeks, our Year 12 students have been courageous, determined and resilient as they approached their final-school based assessments online. As the exam period draws to a close, I must congratulate our Class of 2021 on their successful completion of a remote Trial HSC. They have much to be proud of as they have persevered to successfully complete their HSC learning journey during a global pandemic.
As the term draws to a close, our Year 11 students will commence their final assessments online, just as our Year 12 cohort has done. This final Assessment Block is an opportunity to demonstrate the growth that has occurred throughout the year but is also an opportunity to identify areas for growth in preparation for the commencement of HSC courses in Term 4. To our Year 11 cohort, I wish you the best of luck and look forward to the learning that will continue in Term 4.
I offer my sincere gratitude to our Heads of Department, Stage 6 teachers and Diverse Learning Team for their dedication and collaboration throughout the planning, design and invigilation of online assessment tasks.

How to complete homework on time | Students were introduced to three homework skills to ensure that all homework is handed in on time. |
Assignments/Exams | Students were shown how to break down long-term deadlines and work consistently, balancing the demands of work that is due in the short term with longer-term deadlines. |
In Week 9, our Year 8 students will be involved in a workshop titled Memory and Mnemonics. This workshop will cover easy-to-use techniques and strategies that will assist students with their memory and recall. In addition, students will be introduced to ways to deal with social media, music, TV, distractions, internet and ineffective worktimes. The skills covered include:
Dealing with distractions | How to regulate both external and internal distractions to assist students to stay on track. |
