School Council Report

School council met on the 22nd of March and the new council executives were elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The council welcomes Julie Monk as president, Mark B as treasurer and myself, James Makin as secretary.
The meeting was held after the AGM, key points raised and discussed were:
- Fundraising goals for 2023.
- Greater transparency around the allocation of raised funds.
- Stakeholder engagement (Parents)
- Trivia Night
The council has put a survey together to seek community input around the preferences for fundraising goals. This survey will only take moments to complete, we ask all parents to have their say as stakeholder involvement is essential to gain a higher level of understanding.
In his principal report, Matthew confirmed enrollment of 254 for 2023 and a list already growing for 2024 enrollments. The 2022 Annual report was presented and ratified.
The trivia night date has been set as Friday May 26th. We look forward to a strong engagement from the community.
As this is my first report I'd like to introduce myself, I have two children at school, Oskar in Grade 1, and Isabella in Grade 2. Outside of school council I am an art dealer owning a gallery in Melbourne. So needless to say I'm passionate about supporting the visual arts. But also a lover of sport. I'm often at drop off or pick up so please introduce yourself to me and by all means or email the school with any questions / suggestions you may have. I look forward to serving the school community. Thank you
James Makin.
