What is this subject about?
CORE HAPE is a Health and Physical Education core subject. There is one session of Health and one session of Physical Education per week, and an additional session of Physical Education every alternate week.
- Physical Education is a practical based session with a focus on participation in a variety of major and minor games. You also partake in a range of excursions each year including Wheelchair Basketball and Squash/Raquet Ball.
- Health introduces students to topics such as mental health, lifestyle diseases, relationships, sexuality and physical health. Students will analyse support services, critique strategies to enhance health with a focus on Respectful Relationships.

- Term 4 - Wellbeing

- Term 1- Athletics, Baseball and Minor Games
- Term 2- Basketball, Volleyball and Soccer
- Term 3- Badminton, Table Tennis and Hockey
- Term 4- Cricket, Indigenous Games and Minor Games

- Strategies for harm minimisation
- Understanding of what a healthy / respectful relationship looks like
- Knowledge of the different dimensions of health
- Understanding of the different types of Health services in our community and how they can be improved.
