Year 9

What is the subject about?

 

In Humanities, students examine the world they live in and ask questions about the past, present and future. 

  1. In History, students learn about the causes and the effects of industrialisation and the making of modern Australia. 
  2. Civics and Citizenship focuses on the political and legal systems of Australia and analyses how values of democracy and fair process are present within it. 
  3. Students then explore the global distribution of natural systems in Geography and consider both environmental impact on humans as well as human impact on it. 
  4. Finally, Students research Australia’s role in the global economy and predict changes in the future of the work force.

  • How to analyse historical sources and discuss historical significants.
  • Explain and analyse Australia’s political and legal systems.
  • Explain the distribution of biomes and discuss environmental change and its impacts on future sustainability.
