Music 

Year 9

What is the subject about?

 

Students select a program of group works and develop skill on their chosen instrument while learning how to play this program in ensemble. 

 

Instrument choices are guitar, bass, and voice, with some limited access to drumkit.  In addition to developing skill on their chosen instrument, students develop the ensemble rehearsal technique that sets a foundation for further music performance study during senior years. 

 

Students also learn how to compose music using electronic sequencing software and analyse and reflect on music across a range of genres.Skills you will develop

  • Aural skills in the recognition of pitch, rhythm, texture and timbre
