Year 9

What is the subject about?

At Year 9, Outdoor Education runs alongside the Duke of Edinburgh Award. The world recognised program is designed to empower participants to explore their full potential and find purpose, passion and place in the world. The Award is a fully inclusive program, that will teach important life skills, and allow students to take responsibility for their goals. Student voice and agency will be used to guide excursions and activities as students develop their connection with outdoor environments.   

 

To be successful students must develop a skill (3 months), take the time to volunteer in their community (3 months), engage in physical recreation (3 months) and complete an adventurous journey in a student selected environment with their peers.
