Easter reading

Here we are at Easter already. We have recommended to students that they borrow an extra book during Library this week so they can continue reading over the holidays. Don’t forget our ebook websites from Wheelers and SORA (Overdrive) so students can read online as well.

Shortlist for 2023 announced

On Tuesday 28th March at midday, the shortlists for the Children’s Book of the Year Awards were announced.

Check out the CBCA website for the covers and summaries of the books.  https://cbca.org.au/shortlist-2023

We will be studying these and doing our own voting before the winners are announced in August. We are so pleased that many of the books are already in our St Augustine’s College Library.

Library Lessons

This week our library lessons included an easter story. There was a new Drew Dewalt story from the Crayon series called ‘Happy Easter from the Crayons’, ‘The Easter Bunny visits the Goulburn Valley’ and ‘Happy Easter Davy’. Students made connections to the stories and talked about what Easter means to them. Among the activities students did after the story was a handprint rabbit with a cotton tail.
