Junior Boys Netball

On Thursday, the 4th of May, we travelled to the Ballarat Netball Centre for junior boys netball. In Game 1 we came up against Mount Clear College. Harry and Liam were unstoppable in goals and able to use their height to advantage, rebounding and scoring from the few missed shots they put up. Javiar, Kody and Rory were very eager contributors through the mid court. The final score saw us defeat Mount Clear 26 goals to 1.

In Game 2 we faced an undersized Woodmans Hill outfit. After a sloppy first few minutes, where we turned the ball over a number of times, we soon settled and were welcomed back to the Harry and Liam show with another very accurate shooting display. The second quarter saw late inclusion TK take to the court in Wing Defence and absolutely dominate, intercepting 4 Woodmans Hill centre passes in a row. Final score Beaufort 36 to Woodmans Hill 2.

Our final game for the day saw us up against the only other undefeated side, Ballarat High School. A tough contest had us leading by 2 goals at half time. Despite some inspiring defence by Tom Grant and Zavier, we were unable to maintain our lead and went down by 4 goals, 16 to 12.

Well done to all the boys for their sportsmanship across the 3 games and congratulations to our MVP of the day, Harry, with a whopping 55 votes. A big thankyou to Zarie and Leah for umpiring our games. It’s never an easy job.
