Work Experience

Congratulations to all the Year 10 students who participated in the work experience program during May. Students completed work experience in a wide variety of workplace settings such as childcare, primary schools, hairdressing, medical research, agriculture, local government, aged care, law and hospitality. The feedback we received from employers was exceptional in terms of student engagement and attitude with some students being offered part time employment as a result of their efforts.

Many students have shared their experiences with us which illustrates the value of work experience in helping to determine future career pathways and subject choices in year 11 and 12. In some cases, it also provides students with a realistic understand that a particular occupation is not what they imagined, which is also a positive learning experience.

There is a great deal of work and coordination required to ensure the program runs smoothly and students gain the most from their placement.   A big thank you to teaching staff, parents and the employers who provide the placement opportunities for our students.

Students who were not able to find work experience this time round will have the opportunity to go out later in term 4 (Nov 28th -Dec 1st).
