You be the 'Entrepreneur'

Year 8 Humanities - Economics CAT

Students in Year 8 Humanities study the topic of Economics in Term 1.

The theme of the CAT is around starting up a small business as an 'entrepreneur'.

Students learn about the skills an entrepreneur requires to establish a successful business and learn about the risks involved.  They plan their businesses thinking about pay rates, staffing, supply and demand and marketing along with how they could develop a socially responsible business.

A special mention goes to 8C & 8E who managed to complete their CAT even though they didn't have a regular Humanities teacher.  With the support from the Humanities team, they were able to produce some clever, well planned and interesting businesses and presented engaging sales pitches.

Some of our students made their own products, designed their own business cards and menus and brought in props to enhance their displays.  Impressive!

Congratulations to the Year 8 staff and students.
