Rugby League: Yr 11/12 Boys lead the way with a win!
The St Mary’s Year 9/10 Rugby League team played against Bentley Park SHS on Wednesday. The team moved around the field very well and demonstrated great tenacity and resilience. A wonderful reflection of the attitudes and values we hold high in our sporting teams. Sadly the boys did not win, however great efforts demonstrated by all.
If there are any year 9 or 10 boys who would like to become a part of our Rugby League program and join our Year 9/10 team, please see or email Mr Slatcher, lslatcher1@cns.catholic.edu.au
St Mary’s Year 9/10 team will be playing Djarragun College on Monday 15th May at St Mary’s. We look forward to seeing you there to support our Rugby League teams.
The St Mary’s Year 11/12 Rugby League team unfortunately lost their game to Bentley Park College. The game could be described as a grind with both teams evenly matched. Sadly injury left St Mary’s with 12 on the field in the first few minutes of the second half and that’s when Bentley was able to score. The final score being 4 – 0. A special mention to Cohen Stout for his line break at 30m which put our college in great position to apply some pressure to Bentley Park College. A honourable mention to Connor Laska who put in an outstanding effort as Front Row and played the full first half with no substitutions and did not make any mistakes.
St Mary’s 11/12 team will be playing Smithfield SHS on Monday 15th May at St Mary’s. We look forward to seeing you there to support our Rugby League teams.
Club Netball: SMCC White Snatch Their First Win!
Tuesday saw the second game of the season with St Mary’s playing North Cairns Tigers.
St Mary’s established their dominance early in the game ending the first quarter in front by 6. An impressive mid-court defence and 90% shooting accuracy pushed St Mary’s to a 28 to 5 victory. Well done to the team.
Our next game is against Trinity Beach Bulldogs at 6.30pm on Tuesday 16th May. We look forward to seeing you there to support our Netball team.
U15 Boys Bill Turner Soccer Competition: First Game next week!
