Hello, from the Music room

Music News from Ms. Bridget Finch.

Last week F/1T tried a musical activity involving singing, keeping a steady beat and a game of Jenga.

We watched an advertisement for Jenga made in the 1980’s and talked about the tactics used to try to get people to buy the game – like families laughing and smiling and a catchy song that gets stuck in your head.

We then sang the jingle while passing the Jenga tin on each strong beat. When the song ended, whoever had the tin had a turn of removing a block. Students worked on waiting patiently for their turn and encouraging their classmates.

It was great fun to watch and in the last round, the class broke their record, making eleven moves before the tower took a tumble!
