Volunteer Opportunities

In term 1 we inducted 8 HVS family members to be volunteers within our school community. It has been wonderful to see our volunteers begin their support within the below opportunities. If this is something that interests you, we will hold another Volunteer induction in a few weeks; Friday June 9th from 9.00am - 9.30 am

Breakfast Club: Supported by Jessie (Social Worker) and Paul (School Chaplain). Breakfast is served out of Monty’s Café for a number of our students with the aim to build students communication and skills when preparing breakfast. 

Balloon Football: Facilitated by the Allied Health Team, aimed for our students to build social interaction opportunities, physical movement and have a whole lot of fun!

Resource Hub: A direct support to our Speech Pathologist to create whole school resources, including visuals, communication books, social stories and much more.

HVS Choir: If you want to finish your week on a high by supporting Bingyau (Music Therapist) and Zola (SP) with the HVS Choir, where students sing, follow the beat, tune and enjoy the joy of singing.

In addition to these scheduled Volunteer opportunities, there will be opportunities to volunteer for work experience projects, swimming, excursions and incursions and Monty Café, as well as anything else that arises. 

We are excited to have the opportunity to welcome our family volunteers to support the engagement of our students, please reach out if you have any questions.
