EASTER SUNDAY

Easter is a time of renewal and hope, celebrated by many around the world. It's a time to reflect on the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair, and love over hate.

It's a time to be grateful for the blessings in our lives, and to share that joy and gratitude with others.

Whatever our beliefs or traditions may be: Let us all celebrate the spirit of rebirth and renewal that this holiday represents, and may it inspire us to live with kindness, compassion, and generosity towards one another."

May the miracle of Easter bring you peace, renewed faith, and comfort. God bless you, and may you have a beautiful Easter. May our hearts be filled with hope, peace, and love as we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Wishing you a happy, peaceful and blessed Easter holiday filled with hope, renewal, and joy.

Sacrament Levy

There is a $25 Sacrament Levy to cover the cost for:

a guest speaker to conduct a Parent and Child Workshop for each Sacrament.
professionally made stoles for ALL 3 Sacraments.
a candle for children receiving reconciliation.
children receiving First Eucharist and Confirmation to travel to St. Kevin’s Church for Reconciliation, Eucharist practice by bus.

This levy needs to be paid in full to the school in an envelope clearly indicating your child’s name, Home Group and name of Sacrament being received at the start of the year, before or on the day of your Family Workshop Session.

GRADE 5/6 SOCIAL JUSTICE TEAM – MINI VINNIES

PROJECT COMPASSION

As we enter Holy Week, we continue to reflect on the lives of people vulnerable to extreme poverty and injustice and how we can respond through supporting Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion appeal.

Your generosity is the pebble that allows Caritas Australia to create the ripples that will improve the livelihoods of vulnerable communities, supporting them to flourish and create opportunities for future generations to live to their full potential.

This week Mini Vinnies counted the money in the Project Compassion Boxes. The total amount donated by each House:

4th	Teresa	$69.50

The total collected was $326.55. Thank you to the SFS community for your ongoing generosity, donating to Caritas so they can make a difference in the lives of many people.

Our Community Spirit Award Competition updates for last week, which includes house points, points for the Grade 6 helpers for the Junior Cross Country race and Caritas money donated:

Mini Vinnies have also been busily selling Anzac Badges during eating time each day. We would like to thank all the people that have bought badges. We hope to continue selling them on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after the holidays. All money raised with help support our war veterans and their families.

MINI VINNIES COMMITMENT CEREMONY

Today Mini Vinnies made their commitment to be part of the group for the remainder of the year. They were given their badges and shared their commitment pledge in front of the school community. I am so proud of SFS Mini Vinnies. They’re only too willing to assist and help those less fortunate by giving up their time.
