From the Principal

Happy Easter and Happy Holidays

Term 1 has been an excellent start to the year and all our students can be very proud of all that they have achieved. I take this opportunity to thank our wonderful staff for all their efforts on a daily and weekly basis to ensure that our students are provided with the best opportunities for learning.

Over the last two weeks we have walked the footsteps of Jesus during Passion Week. Our children have been deepening their understanding of Jesus ' message to us in his actions and words. Our theme of 2023, "Forming lives of faith, hope and love to enrich the world." has helped us reflect on our lives during Lent and consider the everyday ways we can enrich the lives of those we live, learn and work with.  As we light the paschal candle at the Easter vigil, we are reminded of the power of one, one light extinguishes darkness and a multitude of lights is glorious radiant force to light up any space. Let us be the light that sparks and ignites the light of others. Let us be great role models for our children and help spread the peace, joy and love of Christ in our world. Happy Easter to all our school community.

Fr Fabian Smith will be our new Parish Priest

The appointment of the new Parish Priest for St Kevin's Hampton Park was announced last weekend at Parish Masses.

We congratulate Fr Fabian Smith on his appointment. Fr Fabian Smith will commence at our Parish on Wednesday 3 May, 2023. We look forward to warmly welcoming Fr Smith to our school community at St Francis de Sales in May. We wish him the very BEST as he takes on this new appointment.

An ERUPTION of Colour and Slime!!!

The term has ended in the traditional way with our Annual Cross Country races. All our children have participated and earned points for their teams. Senior students who have participated and placed will go on to represent our school in the Regional Cross country events next term. The winners of each event (See the Learning & Teaching section) have been presented with a trophy and over the holidays will have their names added to these special trophies that go on display in our school foyer. We congratulate them for their great achievement.

This year after the races the FUN commenced. We thank our P&F committee for organising such a fun end to the term. The weather was also just perfect. The oval erupted in an explosion of colour as pink, yellow, blue , green, purple and red clouds of colour rose into the air in a rainbow kaleidoscope. It was great to get coloured fairy dust land in all kinds of spatters on bodies and on clothes. (lucky it is easy to wash clean) There was great excitement and joy.

However this day was also one of our biggest fundraisers. I thank all those who got sponsors for the event and helped raise alot of money for our new landscape developments beside the new hall. As a result of raising such a lot of money, huge targets were reached. I did not think it was possible but our community surpassed previous targets. The result was that at the very end of the day, we gathered as a school community for the EXTRA special event!! Yes, as a result of passing $10 000 not only did TEN teachers get slimed BUT..... so did the PRINCIPAL!!!! What an end to the term!!!

The Principal got SLIMED!!!

 and Survived!!! LOL!!

As our community then went on to pass $12 000 there will be a free dress day planned for Term 2. Further details will be provided at the start of the Term.

We value the importance of parent partnerships and community engagement. This event is one of many such examples of the vibrant and FUN school community we have, Together we achieve great things and help enhance our school community. Thank you to all who got involved and supported the school today and throughout the Term. You are a STAR!!

Enrol For 2024!! .....Start Spreading the News!!

Launching ENROL NOW on our website

We are launching a new tab on our website today (or after Easter) that enables electronic submission of enrolment applications. To make things easy, parents can book a tour or also now go and complete an application to enrol via our website. Please continue to promote our school. Word of Mouth references is one of the key ways parents tell us they know about our school. So keep spreading the news of this wonderful learning community. We commenced Prep 2024 interviews last week and will complete them early in Term 2. We will then commence our interviews with new families.

Please note the following Staff professional learning closure dates for Term 2, 2023.

This week the floor boards are being laid and the walls are getting closer to completion. The kitchen should arrive next week as well. It is looking amazing and we are now getting really close to hand over!! We are just weeks away from the finish line and cannot wait to see the building completed in Term 2 so we can commence the move into this sensational new space.
