Student learning around KPS

Harmony Day Performances

During the Last week of term 1, we invited parents and families to participate in our Harmony Day performances.

Grade 1 and 2 Footy Clinics

A huge thank you to Pete from the East Ringwood Junior Football Club who volunteered his time to come and run some amazing footy clinics with our Grade 1/2s.

The students had a chance to develop their agility and fitness, learn new skills such as handballing and kicking, and were able to put these skills to the test in a modified game.

All students had such a great time!

Thank you, Pete and the East Ringwood Football Club for giving our students with this opportunity!

Foundation

In Foundation, we have been learning to be Friendship Ninjas.

Students named and created their friendship bear and used it to practice friendship-making skills and scenarios.

We have some wonderful writers in Foundation G!

We also learned Running Raiders and all about our PITW value 'It takes great strength to be sensible'.

We have been so busy with our learning.

Maths in Grades 1 and 2

In grade 1/2 we have been learning about Addition.  We have been practicing different strategies to solve Addition problems by playing heaps of games.  You might like to play '21' at home!

The rules of '21' are:

You will need a deck of cards with only 6s, 5s, 4s, 3s, 2s, and aces.

Set the cards out in rows of 6.

On your turn,  flip cards and add them together to get to 21. If you go over to say "bust" and it's your partner's turn.

Have fun!

Tate and Leo 2LB
Tate and Leo 2LB

Please take the time to look at the above photo of our two proud students, Tate and Leo from 2LB. They worked really hard on their maps of Australia.

This piece of work was completed as part of this term’s investigations unit on Australian Geography. Students used a blank map of Australia and were asked to add in the states and territories, capital cities, compasses, and any special places in Australia they knew or had visited.
