Harmony Day Reflections

For Harmony Week a number of students came dressed in traditional clothing. A selection of students from Esther/Joe 3B have commented on their cultural background at home:

Rain - I am Chinese and I can speak Mandarin and English. I am wearing red and it is the colour of good luck.

Emma - My Dad is Mexican and the scarf I’m wearing today is purple and it’s from Mexico. My Mum is from Israel and speaks Spanish and Hebrew. I can speak a bit of each language too.

Macy - My culture is Japanese and the doll I’m holding I got as a birth present, when I was born. It originally was from Japan. My Dad is Japanese and my Mum Australian. I can speak a little bit of Japanese.

Eamon - Half of my family is Irish and half of my family is Australian. The orange I’m wearing represents my Irish heritage.

Kyna - My Mum and Dad speak Hindi and my Mum can also speak Punjabi. I can only speak Hindi.

Charlotte - I am Chinese and my Dad speaks Cantonese and my Mum speaks Mandarin as well as Cantonese. I mostly speak Cantonese with my parents.
