NEW - Foundation Little Learners Love Literacy Program
During Term 1, students have been learning the letters and sounds of the alphabet from the Little Learners Love Literacy Program. Students were invited to dress up as one of Milo's friends from the book Milo's Birthday Surprise. During the day they celebrated Milo's Birthday with activities including guessing how many lollies in the lolly jar and writing their guess (a number activity), a Scavenger Hunt which students needed to find Milo's friends and write the word that was on the back of the card (a reading activity) and drawing and recording who they dressed up as (writing activity). It was a fun way to learn.
Students also shared their Letter/Sound Craft book with families during the morning.
Mrs T and Miss L were very proud of how hard the students had worked this term, learning their letters and sounds. It was a very busy term!

NEW - Casual Clothes Thursday 6th April
In order to raise funds for Project Compassion - Thursday 6th April will be a casual clothes day. If you can spare some change, we ask for a gold coin donation - thank you. The Grade 6 Social Justice Team has designed the information poster and have chosen the theme of - purple to link into Lent. It is not compulsory that children wear something purple, just a suggestion.
A reminder that students will still need to wear appropriate clothing and enclosed shoes.
NEW - Wonder Recycling Rewards Program
We have joined the Wonder Recycling Rewards Program! We want families to collect all bread bags, from any brand and bring them to school. Students can put them in the Wonder Recycling Box Bin near the Mercy Centre. This recycling will get turned into new products and then Wonder will provide the school with a voucher to buy new sports equipment for the school.
So please support us by bringing in your empty bread bags,
Thanks,
The Sustainability Team
NEW - Soccer Skills Day
On Tuesday the 28th of March the Grade 3 to 6 students did a soccer clinic. Luke was teaching us.
We started with warm ups running up and down the oval in different movements such as high knees, grape vines, grittie, kicking our thighs and a race. After that we were split up into groups and did a relay using an obstacle course. Then we did a fox and rabbit game. Fox and rabbit is a game where you either start with a soccer ball or bib. If you have a ball you are a rabbit, if you have a bib you are a fox.
If you are a fox your job is to try and steal the ball from your rabbit. Once you have stolen the ball you swap, so now the rabbit will turn into a fox and the fox will be a rabbit. After that we played a soccer game. We were split into four groups, and it was really fun. The teams were America, Italy, Australia and Argentina. After that we helped pack up and then we had our lunch.
