Catholic Identity

Holy Week is upon us and our students have already begun celebrating the week with prayer and liturgy. Last week, the Foundation students prepared and performed a beautiful liturgy about Palm Sunday. On Tuesday the 3/4 students presented a liturgy about Holy Thursday and the Last Supper and the 5/6 students will present their Good Friday liturgy Wednesday afternoon. Holy Week will conclude with a liturgy by the 1/2 students focussing on Easter Sunday and the risen Lord. It is important for our children to be a part of Holy Week celebrations to deepen their understanding of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. It is the most important time in our Church and one that proved that Jesus really was the son of God and where the Christian Church began.

Sacramental Program

On Tuesday 4th April, parents attended a formation session in preparation for supporting their children with completing their First Eucharist and Confirmation. It was a lovely night and everyone was excited about getting started.

If you would like your child to complete their First Reconciliation, please complete the form below and return it to me asap. The reconciliation program will begin in term 3.

On Sunday 23rd April (last weekend of the holidays), the children making their First Eucharist and Confirmation this year will be attending mass and will be presented as candidates. They will wear white sashes to show the parish who to pray for and will also say the ‘Our Father’ out the front with Fr. John Paul. We wish these students all the best with their sacramental journey and pray for their families who support them through completing the ‘Steps in Faith’ program. We would love to see as many families as possible at the mass too.

Project Compassion

This term the school has been focussing on raising money for Project Compassion. The Grade 6 Social Justice Team has been working hard at creating events throughout the term in order to raise money e.g., Shrove Tuesday pancakes, Zooper Dooper days and casual clothes. On Thursday, the final event of a casual clothes day (gold coin donation) will be happening and we are hoping that it will bring our fundraising efforts to approximately $1000! A huge effort by everyone involved and a big thank you goes out to all our families for supporting these events.

Wishing you all a safe and Happy Easter. I hope you get to spend time surrounded by your families enjoying each other’s company and the joy of this liturgical season.
