Out Of School Hours Care

OSHC News
My Time Our Place
For the first two weeks back at school the children have enjoyed discussing what they did during the school holidays and the fun activities they were involved in. The children have participated in a variety of activities during the first week such as creating paper chain snakes, animal masks and paper plate lions. Outside the children have helped an educator care for the OSHC garden by spreading across mulch and pulling out weeds. Due to the cold weather the children have been spending more time in the gym which enables the children to play different team games such as basketball and indoor soccer. These activities all encourage the children to learn and develop their social understandings and build on their ability to share and work together as a team rather than as individuals.
School Toilets
As the Fisher toilets are currently undergoing construction this means that the OSHC children will be required to use the portable toilets located behind the gym. The portable toilets are temporary and in the event of bad weather and once it is dark the children will be using the Gym toilets. This will continue throughout the duration of the Term 3.
Outstanding Fees
A friendly reminder to all families that used our Vacation Care service that all fees need to be finalised by the end of week 4 to avoid further action.
Immunisation Documentation
In order to comply with the national regulations, parents are now required to provide the service with a copy of any enrolled child’s/children’s vaccinations and immunisation records. Please can you provide the service with these records ASAP. We can only accept the Medicare copies of their records, which can be downloaded online from your Medicare/MyGov account.
Active After School
If our Educators have not been notified by parents/caregivers that their children are participating in active after school they will be unable to leave the service. If your child is going to attend an after school activity please notify the service in advance. If your child/ren are booked in for that day and do not come to the OSHC service prior to their after school activity the service will follow our protocol of contacting parents, if parents cannot be contacted the police will be called. Please remind your children to go to OSHC before going to active after school.
Medications
If your child requires medication please ensure that you have provided an action plan as well as the medication (asthma pump, Epipen etc.) to the service. It is vital that we have access to your child’s medication at our service whilst your child is attending.
Hats
As part of our sun safety policy children will be required to wear a hat throughout the year.
Absentees
A reminder to all parents and caregivers to contact the service on 8443 5308 if their child(ren) are no longer attending their sessions or have been collected early from school.
Dietary Requirements
At our service we aim to cater to children’s needs as much as possible, however, if your child has specific dietary requirements or does not like the food programmed for the day please pack an alternative snack or drop off food alternatives at the service.
Thank you
