Principal’s Message

Mrs Kath Baird

Dear Parents and Carer’s,

Welcome to Week 7!

This week sees some more fantastic opportunites for our students here at Sacred Heart to participate in.

On Tuesday all students K-6 will have the opportunity  to work with Brittany Riley  on poetry for the Dorothea MacKellar competition.

This will be a great chance for students to apply their knowledge of imaginative and persuasive texts and create responses to the theme... 'in my opinion'.

Also this week we will be hosting our Eisteddfod concert and family picnic day on Thursday. Lunch will commence at 1pm with all families welcome to come and join their children for lunch. Looking at the weather forecast for Thursday it will be quite fresh so please rug up!

This Thursday will also see our students participating in Reconciliation. Fr Abmar will be coming to Boggabri to provide this sacrament to our students. We will offer our prayers to Matilda and Gian who will be making their reconciliation prior to their sacrament of First Eucharist this coming Saturday. Reconciliation will take place on Thursday 9 June at 11am in the church.

We are now only seven Saturdays away from our inaugural Sacred Heart School/Purtle and Plevey Clearning Sale. This is a fantastic chance for our school and wider community to work together to support our school. Please spread the word and clear out your sheds to see what you might be able to offer for sale or donate to our clearing sale. Further information about registration forms is to come. Also a roster will be sent out to families for assistance on the day.

As we are nearing the end of the term there are students who are rapidly chasing their learning goals that they have set for themselves in recent weeks. I would encourage you to have conversation with your child about the learning goals they have set.

Also the next  meeting of the Sacred Heart PTF will take place on Tuesday 14 June at 5:30pm. All are welcome.

Please keep Jo and Paul Tailby and family in your prayers after a significant loss in their family.

May eternal rest grant unto them O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.  Amen.

Finally, if you know of anyone intending to enrol for 2023 please encourage them to contact me at the school.

Take care

Kath Baird
