Year 8 and 9 students began their new Humanities elective ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly’ by undertaking a crime scene investigation. Students used a series of clues, facts & evidence to help them determine what historical figure was the skeleton under the sheet!
Using the evidence collected they were able to determine that the victim under the sheet was the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong.
In this elective, students will explore and investigate a series of well-known individuals in modern history. They will use the evidence they collect to help them to judge the historical significance of these individuals and to make a critical assessment on whether these individuals should be remembered as heroes or villains.
Last week we celebrated and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
We would like to acknowledge the traditional owners/custodians of the land on which we meet today, the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Japagulk and Wergaia people, and pay respect to elders past, presents and emerging.
