Deputy Principal's

Report - Years 7, 9, 11

Thank you to our students and families for your commitment to Henry Kendall High School. As we have moved back to ‘normality’, it has been rewarding seeing our community back through the school gates.

Attendance

Thank you to all parents for supporting the attendance of our students, especially after the return to school from remote learning last year. As per the NSW Department of Education Policy for School Attendance we are required to remind parents of the following:

4.1.2

Parents are required to explain the absences of their children from school promptly and within seven days to the school. An explanation for absence must be provided to the school within 7 days of the first day of any period of absence.

Please ensure you make contact by either a note to the school or a phone call explaining your child’s absence. Mrs Gillard is our attendance officer and she makes regular contact with students and parents on the progress of student attendance.

Uniform Update

Thankyou to parents and carers for your ongoing support of the school uniform. Please be reminded that the tracksuit pants from Lowes can be worn everyday by the students. Hooded jumpers and coloured pants are not to be worn to school.

Year 12 - What’s coming up and what’s been…

  • As the term is drawing to a close Year 12 are working extremely hard on their practical projects  in many subjects. Students must have 90% of these projects completed by Week 1 - Term 3. Staff have been extremely supportive of their time on afternoons and weekends to assist students in their completion of practical work.
  • Year 12 trials are scheduled for Weeks 4 and 5 next term beginning Monday 8  August 2022.

Minimum Standards Testing

Congratulations to all students who are presently working through this testing. Mrs Wearne will update students with results as the process continues.

Stage 6 Preparation Program

Year 10 will be issued the information note regarding this program in the first week of Term 3. This program replaces Year 10’s normal timetable and is compulsory for all Year 10 in Weeks 7, 8 and 9 Term 4 2022.

Students are required to select electives for part of the program. The information in regards to how this needs to be completed will be e-mailed to all Year 10 students Week 1 next term. Please encourage your child to access their school e-mail and select their electives as soon as possible.

To our wonderful HKHS school community thank you again for your fantastic support this term! We look forward to a busy and productive Term 3.
