Yesterday we celebrated the Feast Day of Sacred Heart (one day early due to our Pupil Free Day). Students participated in Liturgy and Cross Age activities to celebrate our Parish and School's name sake. Today we are reminded and shared with our students that Jesus loves us and his Sacred Heart shows us how we should love. Today was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate as a community, our great school.
Please check out the 'Sacred Heart School Photo Gallery' to see the great fun we got up to in celebration of the Sacred Heart Feast Day.
For today's prayer reflection, I share with you our school prayer. It is a beautiful reflection of the values and mission of our school, and the hopes we have for our students. I encourage you all to share this prayer at home.
This week we received news of the passing of Joseph Bacash, the father of Gabby Downie. Gabby was our former Principal Consultant for the schools in the North East Deanery, who worked with both Zoe and I, prior to 2022. Joseph was born in Lebanon, and came to Australia as a young man. He and his wife set up home in Corryong, where they ran Bacash's Emporium for many years. With Bacash's Emporium still a part of Corryong to this day. We keep Gabby and her family in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
On behalf of all the staff at Sacred Heart School we wish you all a very happy and safe holidays. That it is a great opportunity to spend time together as a family and a chance to relax ahead of Term Three.
